How to Save battery on The DualSense Controller of Your PS5

Make your Dualsense’s battery last much longer with these tricks. PlayStation has always opted for the inclusion of a built-in battery in its controls and with the DualSense, it would have done no less.

The new PS5 hand packs a slightly larger battery than its predecessors, however, you can still achieve better results and prevent the controller from dying in the middle of an important game. So keep reading these tips to save battery life on your PS5 controller.

What does the DualSense battery offer?

The battery that comes with the DualSense is much larger than that of the DualShock 4. Your text will be rewritten by QuillBot.

Anyway, The new vibration system and the built-in microphone only begin, by type, or pasting something into this box and then pressing the enter key, adding more power consumption, so you will continue to suffer in those moments when you run out of battery.

Adjusts the intensity level of the triggers of the DualSense controller

One of the revolutionary features of the DualSense controller is the adaptive activation buttons. These are the R2 and L2 buttons very different from the buttons on any previous PlayStation controller.

Adaptive triggers allow you to feel aspects of the game. The left trigger will offer resistance to emulate lifting a weapon.

Likewise, the right fire button will feel like you’re pulling the trigger on a gun. By disabling them, you will lose much of the PS5 experience. However, you can adjust the intensity before turning them off completely.

Reduce the speaker volume

The built-in speaker produces amazing effects, however, if you normally play with headphones you might want to keep it off by default. You can reduce the intensity of the sound to moderate the consumption, but if you do not use it frequently it will be better to turn it off forever.

Lower vibration intensity

Turning off the new vibration system is nothing short of a crime, but the truth is that vibration systems consume a lot of energy. Turning it off will greatly decrease battery consumption, thus gaining a few more minutes of play.

Turn off the controller lights

Since the DualShock 4, Sony wanted to give light and color to its controls and fortunately, the DualSense reduced that part of the LED that attracted so much attention in the previous version.

This time we have a small LED that lights up when the controller is in use, and some sidebands that surround the touch panel, and although they cannot be turned off completely, you can adjust their intensity.

Turn off the mic

Another function that is enabled by default on the remote is the microphone. This is something that bothers many users. Fortunately, it can be disabled by following these steps:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Sound.
  • Then select Microphone.
  • Go to Mute in the Microphone Status section when connected.

Connect it via USB

Another interesting option that can be activated is the one that determines how it works when you connect the DualSense by cable.

By default, if you connect the controller to the PS5 via a cable, it will continue to work via Bluetooth. You can change it to save battery life, so select Use USB cable to automatically turn off Bluetooth when connected by cable.

Program the DualSense to turn off

If you leave your PS5 running and the controller on for hours either because you are watching a movie or series, this will reduce the battery life. To avoid this problem, it is a good idea to set a timer for DualSense to turn off when you are not using it. All you need to follow the instructions below.

  • Go to the Main Menu of your PS5> Settings
  • Select System > Energy Saver. Here you will see the set time until the controls are completely turned off. You can set 10 minutes, 30 minutes, 60 minutes, or off.

There is no reason to leave the controller on for long periods of time of inactivity. Enabling this option limits the battery life that is wasted when you are not in front of the TV. And if you are one of those who prefer to play on your computer, here we show you how to connect your DualSense to a PC.
