With this tutorial, you will learn in a jiffy how to set up a profile for your child on Disney Plus. Disney + is the digital content platform of the Walt Disney Company, which joins the multimedia companies that have chosen to add streaming applications to their services.
Although its content is focused on children and adolescents, parents have the opportunity to regulate the type of content that children can access according to their ages and interests.
This is something that gives it an advantage over other similar platforms, in which although parental control can be programmed, content for adult audiences is always present, something that does not happen on the Disney + platform. In this sense, more than anything, the control is placed on the content that children can see is the one that best suits their age, not on the fact of having to avoid the visualization of inappropriate scenes.
The Disney platform is available both in web format and in applications for Android and iOS, so we will show you how to create a profile for children from the web and from the respective mobile apps.

Content classification
The content is separated into categories
In the case of children’s profiles on Disney Plus, the content is grouped into three categories: TV-7FV or TV-G, which for us would be those classified as suitable for all audiences and those classified as for those over seven years of age. This leaves out all series or movies classified as over thirteen, sixteen, or eighteen, which could have scenes of violence or sex.
In the children’s profile, it is not possible to filter which series or movie to watch or not, simply select that profile, and the content is automatically filtered, leaving only the programming that falls within the category of children’s content accessible.
The categories are shown with simple covers and easily recognizable characters so that even if the child cannot read, he will be able to find the different series and movies without difficulty. Here you can see the complete Disney + 2020 catalog.
The different categories are:
- Mickey Mouse and his friends
- Princesses
- Disney Junior
- Superheros
- Action and adventure
- Animals and nature
You will also find categories such as original films of Disney Channel, Disney Channel, animated adventures, etc. Within each series or movie, you will also find suggestions for similar content based on your preferences which makes it easy to search.
