Folding and rolling screens: this is the future of Samsung mobiles
Samsung has unveiled prototypes of folding and rolling panels that will appear on smartphones, desktops, and other gadgets.

Samsung will produce screens for Xiaomi, Oppo, and Google as part of a wave of folding smartphones.
Why does everyone copy the Galaxy Fold?
Samsung is gearing up for a mobile revolution, and this is how its new screens will look.
One of the most innovative companies on the mobile scene is Samsung, which, with its folding screens, has redefined what the highest range of its catalog is like. The Asian manufacturer has taken many years to create folding consumer mobile phones, but it is no longer unthinkable.

The company demonstrated what its next steps would be at Display Week 2021, organised by the Society for Information Display Screens (SID), allowing us to view mobiles that fold three times, cameras that are hidden under the screen and even computers foldable.

This would be the first mobile that folds twice

One of the most striking videos is the one that shows us a smartphone that is folded twice to be able to be saved more easily. It reminds us of the Galaxy Z Flip but when its screen unfolds it is larger.

A mobile that unrolls with a gesture

No less striking is the concept that proposes to enlarge the mobile screen with a gesture on it.

This model is very reminiscent of the OPPO X 2021 , a terminal that we can test shortly although we do not know when it will go on sale.

As can be seen, these are computer-created devices, which show what the company works on, but which have not been seen, at least for the moment, not even in the form of prototypes.

It is something similar to the folding that we saw in 2017 at industry fairs and that years later would become the new Samsung family, the Galaxy Fold.

This type of device promises to change the way we use mobile phones on a daily basis, but let’s not forget that they will be very expensive models at launch, although little by little they will become more conventional terminals. And that will make them more affordable.
