As detailed by Computer Hoy, a portal specialized in technology, testing the new features of Google Photos is very simple, you just have to enter the Play Store or App Store and download the latest version of the app.
Then go to the image you want to fix and choose the settings option. Several options will appear at the bottom, you have to focus on only two of them: improve sharpness and reduce noise.
The first uses a system that allows the user of Google Photos to increase the details of the image artificially; However, you should not overdo it, as you could achieve an effect contrary to what you are looking for.
For its part, the option to reduce noise eliminates the graininess present in photographs taken at night. In this way, you can manually reduce the photographic noise of any night image.
Works Without Internet
Another of the most recent innovations in Google Photos allows users to use the different tools of the application, without the need to be connected to a Wi-Fi network or using their data plan.
Thanks to the offline mode, people can create albums, move photos from one album to another, delete an album, add to favorites, archive photos, or delete photos from their phone or tablet.
The new tools will be marked with a yellow dot, like in the “HDR” effect launched for Pixel phones and Google One subscribers, 9to5 Google reported. When applied to the max, the effect is very apparent and not too accurate in very brief testing, the report notes. The new tools are rolling out as part of a server-side update.
In February, Google Photos rolled out new video editing tools with over 30 controls. These include tools for cropping, filters, and color grading options like adjusting contrast, saturation, and brightness.
The company said it would be bringing some machine-learning powered editing tools previously exclusive to Pixel devices to other Android phones, but only for Google One subscribers. One can notice the “Google 1 logo” on editing tools that are locked for Google One subscribers. Users can get access to these tools by clicking on the filter and paying for the Google One subscription.
From June 2021, Google Photos will stop being a free service and will start charging users for the service once they reach the 15 GB of storage limit that comes with every Google Account.
The change, however, will not apply to Google Pixel users as they will still be able to upload high-quality photos and videos for free.
